A Nigerian doctor, Olufunmilayo, has taken to ‘X’ platform to advise intending University students on some courses in the medical field, that will put them in high demand abroad.
He told them to consider Nursing, Radiography, Physiotherapy, Dental Therapy and Occupational Therapy to boost their chances.
In his post, Olufunmilayo wrote;
‘’If you or someone you know has future plans to leave Nigeria and you are wondering what’s the smartest and more affordable university courses to take in Nigeria right now that guarantees you will get a job in demand abroad especially in the medical field-
Do nursing,
Do Radiography.
Do Physiotherapy.
Do Dental therapy.
Do Occupational Therapy.
Leave pharmacy. Leave Law. Leave dentistry. Their pathway is not usually easy, cheap or straightforward.
Even medicine, leave am – too stressful, too long with asuu strikes, now expensive in many universities, chances of you getting admitted is very low and chances of being kicked out before you graduate is very high.
Again, if you want a course where you will always be in demand abroad, with a fast easy japa process- go for nursing.
Not only can nurses easily move abroad, they can also easily move from one developed country to another if they wish to. Not same for so many courses. Even as a doctor, to move from uk to usa, your eye go see red pepper.
The global opportunities that comes with studying nursing and having a nursing certificate/degree is infinite and limitless.
