Eden Hazard Expresses Displeasure at Representing Belgium at the 2018 World Cup

Eden Hazard, Real Madrid star, recently revealed that he had decided to retire from international duty after the World Cup in Qatar. He admitted that he ‘didn’t like’ playing for Belgium there, as he felt that a new generation of players were more deserving. Hazard stated that he had been considering retirement after the European Championships in 2021, and that his decision was not affected by the team’s performance in Qatar. He also mentioned that his teammate Toni Kroos had quit the German national team two years ago and used the time to spend with his family. Hazard made his retirement from international duty public with a post on Instagram, where he thanked his fans for their support.
