Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai confirmed that a coalition meeting took place in Abuja on Tuesday.
This information was reported by DailyPost.
El-Rufai asserted that President Bola Tinubu would be sent back to Lagos while Minister Bosun Tijani, who he commended for his commendable efforts, would continue in the following administration.
Reports suggest that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and El-Rufai have chosen the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the main vehicle for their opposition coalition.
The three leaders reportedly reached this decision after their meeting on Tuesday evening.
“They have settled on the African Democratic Party as their coalition platform; all of them (Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai) are collaborating. They reached this conclusion last night and continued discussions into the early hours,” stated a source.
During a speech at the Arewa TechFest in Katsina on Wednesday, El-Rufai mentioned, “Yesterday at 8 PM, we held a significant coalition meeting aimed at ensuring President Tinubu returns to Lagos.”
“However, we intend to retain Bosun Tijani; he will stay on as minister because of his effective work.”
