Princess Ada, a Nigerian woman living in the USA, has urged single women to avoid the pressure of marrying men who lack financial stability. This advice came after she faced backlash for suggesting that women should aim to marry wealthy partners.
In her social media post, she remarked, “I heard they are criticizing me for this post! Ladies, in 2025, don’t let anyone push you into marrying a financially struggling man; they won’t share poverty with you.”
Ada continued, emphasizing that for younger women considering marriage with men in their 20s, it’s crucial to choose someone who is not only hardworking but shows clear ambition and a drive for financial success—not just someone who talks about their dreams. She warned against those who may seem like potential fraudsters due to lack of action.
She advised older women, specifically those looking at men in their 30s and beyond, to look for indicators of success and wealth, asserting that it’s vital to confirm a man’s ability to provide and support them financially before marrying.
“Life is challenging, marriage is challenging, and money plays an essential role in living well. Of course, earn your own money, but also strive to marry a man who can contribute financially too. Let those who understand take this to heart,” she concluded.
