The Lagos State Police have initiated a search for Kadiri Yusuf, a 48-year-old man known as Alado, following accusations of violently assaulting his two children in the Orile Agege region of Lagos.
Reports indicate that the suspect caused serious injuries to his children, who are aged 11 and 13.
According to NAN’s City and Crime, the case came to light after the children’s teacher reported it to the police.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson for Lagos State, verified the details and stated that on Friday, October 18, around 5pm, the head teacher from a primary school in the area reported that she discovered that one of her pupils had numerous injuries on her body.
The teacher further explained that when she asked the injured girl about her condition, the 11-year-old revealed that her father, Kadiri Yusuf, regularly beat her.
“The girl also shared that her father had physically assaulted her older brother, who is 13,” Hundeyin added.
The two children have been rescued, received medical treatment, and are now in the care of their sister. The suspect escaped before the police could reach the scene, but efforts to locate him are currently underway.
