The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Tinubu, has enforced a ban on the utilization of single-use plastics within all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
During a press briefing following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, made this announcement.
Salako emphasized that this ban complements the government’s comprehensive strategy for managing plastic waste and aims to combat climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
The minister raised awareness about the significant problem of plastic pollution in Nigeria, labeling it as a critical issue in the country.
