Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, has announced the release of a group of Polish students and their teacher who were arrested in Nigeria during the #Endbadgovernance protests.
The seven Polish citizens were taken into custody in Kano due to their suspected involvement in the protest and displaying of Russian flags, as stated by the Nigerian national security agency.
The Polish authorities clarified that they were University of Warsaw students and a teacher who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The group has been released and is now back in Kano on campus with their passports, according to Sikorski.
He mentioned that the students had received a lesson in African studies and expressed hope for their swift return to Poland.
