41 year old Nollywood actress and mum of two, Foluke Daramola, has reacted to claims that Lanre Hassan, popularly known as Iya Awero is asking for financial assistance.
The insinuations resulted last week after recent photos of the veteran actress, Iya Awero receiving a share of the Lagos state relief from actress Foluke Daramola amidst the lockdown in the state, surfaced online.
Now clearing the air in a video, Foluke Daramola in an Instagram video released hours ago said “…People have been calling me concerning Uncle Lari, Iya Awero and Baba Feyikogbon…These people are not begging me for food or money in any way…it is just my little way of supporting them through my foundation.”
Speaking further she said “They are not suffering or begging for any financial assistance…Iya Awero even wants to have a birthday party soon, she told me about it…so why carry rumours that these people are asking for financial assistance??…They have children taking care them…I only visited them with the gifts out of my own will….”
She explained her reason for doing this in a November 2019 interview with The National Mandate Newspaper.
“Some of these actors have put in so much over the many years in the growth, progress and development of the entertainment and Nollywood industry in Nigeria, and so, they do not deserve to be neglected, forgotten or left alone to continue to wriggle in economic hardship and pains,” she said.
