Nigerian skit creator and actress, Lizzy Jay, has shared that she ventured into skit-making as a way to combat boredom.

She discussed her experiences during a conversation on Nollywood On Radio.

Initially, Lizzy Jay aspired to be a singer and a medical professional before discovering her passion for creating skits.

She mentioned that her foray into skit-making was a result of feeling bored while spending time alone at home.

Her outlook shifted when one of her skits received unforeseen popularity and was shared by numerous celebrities, including Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.

She stated, “When I started making skits, I wasn’t focused on anything; my dreams were to pursue music, attend school, and become a doctor.

“The skit-making journey simply arose from boredom. I was at home, had my phone, and found myself wanting to do something creative.

“It wasn’t a planned endeavor—I didn’t see others making skits and feel inspired to follow suit. I just needed to pass the time, so I created a skit.

“My perspective shifted when one of my skits, which I shared on Facebook, was reposted by various celebrities, including Omotola Jalade on Instagram. At that moment, I realized I wanted to pursue this further,” she shared.

Lizzy first gained fame as a skit creator before moving into acting. She has showcased her talent in several Nollywood productions, such as ‘Dear Affy,’ ‘Dubara,’ and ‘The Order of Things.’
