Rivers State Governor Unveils 2025 Budget
Sim Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, has introduced the 2025 budget to a segment of the state’s House of Assembly.
On Monday, he revealed a budget of N1.1 trillion to the faction led by Victor Oko-Jumbo.
As reported by DailyPost, this four-member group had previously acknowledged a letter from Fubara that sought permission to present the budget during the assembly’s session.
This is Fubara’s second time presenting a budget since taking office.
Last year, he introduced the 2024 budget of N800 billion to another four-member faction headed by Speaker Edison Ehie.
The presentation came amid ongoing demolitions at the State House of Assembly complex.
This situation arose following the departure of 27 assembly members, who, under the leadership of fractional Speaker Martin Amaewhule, transitioned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers’ shift to the APC was a response to tensions between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
After Ehie’s resignation from the assembly, Fubara appointed him as Chief of Staff.
