Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who leads the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu played a role in the recent Ondo State governorship election, which was won by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
During a Wednesday meeting at the APC National Secretariat with Aiyedatiwa, Ganduje mentioned that the citizens of Ondo State voted overwhelmingly for the governor, securing victories in all 18 local government areas.
He highlighted the significant backing for the APC, noting that the party triumphed in 202 out of 203 wards.
Ganduje attributed this success to the governor’s efficient administration and the strong mobilization efforts of the party at various levels.
He encouraged Aiyedatiwa to maintain his momentum in development and enhance the APC’s influence in the region.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his appreciation to the people of Ondo State and the APC leadership for their trust in his leadership.
He reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling his campaign commitments and promoting unity within the party.
Ganduje asserted, “There was no hidden support from external sources. No influence from the government or the presidency. This election was the collective effort of all segments of the society, including grassroots support.”
He concluded, “Congratulations on this magnificent victory. The people of Ondo are progressives, and their cooperation with you is essential.”
