Gombe Police Capture Two Alleged Thieves

The spokesperson for the police force, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, announced on February 11 that they are actively working to apprehend the person who received the stolen goods, identified as Ibrahim Danmariya.

The police in Gombe State have arrested two individuals suspected of theft and conspiracy.
 
The accused, Ibrahim Umar, aged 22, from Herwa Gana Quarter, and Usman Abdullahi, aged 27, from Kumbiya Kumbiya Quarters, allegedly broke into the residence of Abdulbasid Haruna on February 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am, stealing several items valued at N3,200,570, including laptops and mobile phones.
 
DSP Buhari Abdullahi provided further details in a statement on February 11, highlighting ongoing efforts to apprehend the individual who received the stolen items, Ibrahim Danmariya.

“On February 4, 2025, at around 4:00 PM, a report was filed by Abdulbasid Haruna regarding the break-in at his home on February 3, 2025, around 1:00 AM, where multiple items were stolen. These included:(1) Apple MacBook valued at N2,100,000, (2) Dell laptop worth N250,000, (3) Vivo V40 mobile phone valued at N740,000, (4) Oramo smartwatch estimated at N48,000, (5) Oramo AirPods valued at N48,000, (6) a 500GB SSD external device worth N60,000, and prepaid airtime valued at N4,570, totaling N3,200,570,” the statement said.
 
“Once the report was received, detectives from the Command’s Monitoring Unit began an investigation using technological tools to trace some of the stolen items, which led to the suspects’ arrest on February 7, 2025.
 
“During the investigation, all stolen items were recovered after being sold for N80,000. The suspects admitted to the crime, and efforts are underway to apprehend the individual who received the stolen items.
 
“The Command also advises residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station promptly.”
