Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, who was 120 years old and the stepmother of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has passed away.

She was recognized for her dedication to community service and died on January 1, 2025.

Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, confirmed her death in a statement circulated to news outlets in Bauchi on Wednesday.

“Her death signifies the conclusion of a remarkable life marked by selflessness, devotion, and a strong commitment to service within the community,” the statement noted.

The Janazah is planned for 4:00 PM at the Government House, specifically in Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square.

The governor conveyed his sincere condolences to the Duguri family and to all those who had the honor of knowing Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri.

He encouraged everyone to pray for her soul and to remember her significant contributions.

“May Allah grant her eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus and provide strength to her family during this difficult time,” the governor expressed.
