Nigeria’s House of Representatives is currently holding a valedictory session of the 9th House, The PUNCH reports.
In attendance at the session are former speakers, Ghali Na’Abbas and Patricia Etteh.
The speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila in his final speech commended the lawmakers for their efforts in the last four years, which include the passage of important legislation like PIA, Electoral Act, and others.
He expressed regret with the inability of the 9th House to pass several women-related bills that the House rejected in 2022.
Gbajabiamila also urged the next House to take on the challenge of passing gender-related bills.
It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila was appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The next Assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday.
