Nyesom Wike Takes Initiative on Projects Without Seeking Permission
During the inauguration of the Kwaita-Yebu Road in Kwali Area Council, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike emphasized that he does not require authorization from anyone, except President Tinubu, to initiate projects.
Wike’s statement comes against the backdrop of a disagreement with FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe, who criticized Wike for undertaking infrastructure developments that allegedly do not benefit FCT residents.
Responding to the criticism during the road flag-off event, Wike asserted, “For those who are unaware and have nothing meaningful to say, suggesting that our activities are limited to road constructions, please be informed that we are involved in substantial projects.”
He added, “I don’t require approval from anyone to decide on the projects I undertake. The only authority I seek such approval from is the President who appointed me. Therefore, no one can claim that we are neglecting schools without consulting them.”
