Imo Police Command Recovers Goods Worth N3 Million From Buglers

According to the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, ASP Henry Okoye, the two suspects namely, Usman Suleiman from Kano State And Mohammed Ibrahim from Zaria, Kaduna State were said to have broken into a shop at Police Wives Association’s Plaza, POWA, located at Rapoul junction, Amakakohia.

Operatives from the Owerri Urban Area Command Headquarters swiftly responded to a distress call from a citizen and apprehended two suspected criminals known for breaking into shops in the vicinity of Owerri Capital.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, ASP Henry Okoye, the two suspects namely, Usman Suleiman from Kano State And Mohammed Ibrahim from Zaria, Kaduna State were said to have broken into a shop at Police Wives Association’s Plaza, POWA, located at Rapoul junction, Amakakohia

“The hoodlums took to their heels on sighting the Police but were given a hot chase by the ever-gallant operatives which led to the arrest of the suspects while others escaped to the nearby bush, abandoning most of the items stolen from the shop. Efforts are on top gear to arrest other fleeing suspects and make them face the full wrath of the law,” the PPRO said.

”Some of the items recovered from the suspects include- One Solar Panel, three damaged pad lucks, One big iron cutter, one Barr, one OX standing fan, two Sonik standing fans, One Gas Cylinder, two MI + Bluetooth Speakers, One ElepaQ Generator, One Century 32 inches plasma TV, One 43 inches Hisense plasma TV, One Sonik Blender, One Philips Electric Kettle, One Boscon Electric Kettle, One small Sonik Rechargeable fan, One Kami 20watts rechargeable bulb, One DC Rechargeable hand fan, One Kami Rechargeable bub, Four Touch Lights, One Generator Wires, Four Wheelbarrow trucks, and One Vivo Android Phone, valued over two million Naira.

The Police Spokesperson said the recovered items have been released on bond to the rightful owner, Mr Idika Uchechukwu while the suspects are currently undergoing a comprehensive investigation and will certainly have their day in court.

Following the timely information given to the officers which prompted their immediate action, the State Commissioner of Police CP. Aboki Danjuma appreciated the caller for availing the Police with the information and enjoined other well-meaning citizens of the State to follow suit by taking advantage of the Command’s emergency lines and reporting any suspicious person seen or clandestine activity observed within their vicinity.

He stated that a serious search is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
