For many individuals, marching throughout Saturday’s March For Our Lives demonstrations was a deeply private act. Countless attendees, who showed their support for gun control all over the country, have been victims of gun violence themselves, from the outspoken students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to singer Jennifer Hudson. The Oscar winner tragically lost her mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew in 2008 when they were shot and killed by her former brother-in-law William Balfour.
Like Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, Hudson confirmed help for the trigger by taking the stage at the march in Washington D.C. and belting out a shocking rendition of the Bob Dylan basic “The Times They Are A-Changin.” With a gospel choir to again her up, Hudson’s efficiency was simply one of many day’s strongest moments (of which there was no scarcity). Watch it above.
