Jigawa State APC Candidate Passes Away Before Local Government Election

APC Candidate In Jigawa Dies Days To LG Election (via Primetweets)

Yahuza Umar Labbo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate set to run in the forthcoming local government election for Kirikasamma Local Government in Jigawa State, has unfortunately passed away.

The state APC chairman, Aminu Gumel, confirmed this sad news to the press on Wednesday. Umar Labbo, aged 55, succumbed to a brief illness.

As reported by Daily Post, Labbo, a politician, leaves behind three wives and fifteen children.

Governor Umar Namadi expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family and the Muslim community at large.

He offered prayers for the departed to find eternal peace and for the family to find strength in coping with this loss.

This tragic incident occurred just days before the local government election in Jigawa State.

It is important to mention that the Jigawa chapter of the APC recently faced another unfortunate incident following a fire outbreak at their state headquarters.

Several weeks ago, the headquarters located in Dutse, the state capital, was set ablaze during a protest against hunger.

Angry youths vandalized the building, destroyed billboards, and set fire to vehicles on the premises.

The violence escalated to other areas in the state as armed youths caused further destruction, despite security attempts to quell the situation.

In Birnin Kudu, where injuries were sustained, the State Fertilizer Store and Grains Store were ransacked and looted. Similarly, the state Agricultural Supply Company (JASCO) store in Gumel was also targeted.

The mob also attacked the homes of a House of Representatives member representing Gumel, Gagarawa, and Maigarati, as well as the residence of the APC Zonal Vice Chairman.
