Arrest of Elderly Man in Kano Linked to Hypnotism and Ritualistic Plans
An elderly man named Malam Yahaya from the Utoro community in Kano State has been taken into custody.
He was arrested for allegedly influencing a person to abduct a baby for a grotesque ritual involving the removal of the child’s eyes.
Authorities from the Bompai Police Station detained Yahaya after they caught Kabir Sani, a man he reportedly hypnotized, attempting to fulfill this strange request.
A video shared by SaharaReporters features Sani revealing that he was led to Yahaya’s home, where police found alarming items like a calabash inscribed with symbols, clothing in white and red, and various charms.
Sani described his experience, stating, “My name is Kabir Sani. I’m 25 years old and live in Utoro. I sought Malam’s assistance due to feeling unwell. He provided me with some medicine mixed with water and instructed me to utilize my urine for the next three days.
“Upon my return, he offered me specific perfumes which caused my mind to go blank; I became compliant to his commands without resistance.
“He promised me N1 million but insisted I find a child to have their eyes removed for a charm intended for a soldier’s invisibility.
“I approached my sister, disclosing everything Malam Yahaya instructed me to do, admitting that I was not myself. I attempted to locate an 8-month-old child living in our home.”
“Regrettably, I could not bring the child; had I done so, Malam would have harmed them. I appeal to everyone to help me persuade Malam to restore my mental state,” Sani pleaded.
As reported by SaharaReporters, the Kano State Police spokesperson, Haruna Abdullahi, did not respond to inquiries when reached for comment.
