Kenny Ogungbe, a prominent Nigerian music executive, has refuted claims suggesting he played a role in the breakup of the music trio, Plantashun Boiz, which includes artists Tubaba, Blackface, and Faze.

Speculation arose that the group’s disbandment was linked to Kennis Music signing 2Baba. However, during a recent discussion on The Honest Bunch podcast, Ogungbe clarified that the group’s separation had already occurred when 2Baba approached him for support.

He stated, “People have been saying I’m responsible for the breakup of Plantashun Boiz.”

“That’s not accurate. 2Face came to me after the group had split, expressing his desire to sign with Kennis Music, a move recommended by Eedris Abdulkareem, which I proceeded with.”

The initial breakup of Plantashun Boiz happened in 2004 following the release of their second album, ‘Sold Out’. They later reunited in 2007 to produce a final album titled ‘Plan B’ before disbanding once more.
