Lady Gaga’s Breathtaking New Version of “Joanne” Will Break Your Heart

Over a year after the release of Lady Gaga‘s Joanne, we’re still in awe of some of the more powerful tracks. In addition to emotional songs like “Million Reasons” and “Angel Down, the titular song off of her fifth studio album, “Joanne,” has some pretty significant inspiration behind it. The soulful ballad is an ode to her late aunt, Joanne Germanotta, who died at 19-years-old of lupus. Now, ahead of her performance at the Grammys, Gaga has released a preview of a stripped-down, piano version of the song.

The accompanying video features the singer walking by some train tracks and spinning around a field in a gorgeous, airy gown, visuals that pair perfectly with “Joanne.” She also noted in her tweet teasing the full song’s release that “The @LupusResearch Alliance is receiving a donation in honor of Joanne Stefani Germanotta. Please consider a donation to this tremendous organization.” Listen to the stunning “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)” below!
