A woman from Nigeria took to social media to express her distress after her husband plunged her into debt following the birth of their child.
She described feeling let down by her marriage, which left her feeling overwhelmed and mentally drained.
She alleged that her husband, who she tied the knot with, did not truly care for her and instead exploited their marriage for financial benefits, leaving her in a dire financial predicament.
In a tearful video posted by @oyindamola_honey, she disclosed that her spouse consistently borrowed money from her, pushing her into substantial debt.
Despite never contributing to their relationship, he even had the audacity to ask for money when she was in labor, showing a lack of concern for her well-being.
Now struggling with financial difficulties, Oyindamola is reaching out for assistance and solidarity from the online community.
She expressed:
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to everyone whom I have let down. I have disappointed many. Myself included. My child as well. My marriage has been a failure. If I had known, I would not have gotten pregnant or married. I regret every decision I made. They have reduced me to nothing. I was thriving before I got married. The person I got pregnant for has nothing. Three years of my life have been filled with lies, depression, and frustration.
“For three years, I have been struggling. Those who know me have been questioning what’s wrong. I did everything possible for this man. Every single thing. Since I met him, I have been in debt. A debt that I cannot even explain. I do not dress well. I do not take care of myself. I have nothing. I was constantly covering up and doing everything to elevate his image. Even in labor and pain, the man who impregnated me was demanding money and in debt. I was in labor and still searching for money to give him. After giving birth, I sent him N100,000. I had to find money to settle my hospital bills. Yet, this same man will not stand up for me when someone attacks me online. Instead, he drags me down. If there’s an issue, his family tells him to kick me out. I am drowning in debt. Please help me.”
