Investigation Launched into Allegations Against Teacher in Lagos

The Lagos State Government is set to investigate a 22-year-old educator, Louis Prosper, accused of committing an act of sodomy against a 10-year-old male student at Blessed Peace School located in the Alimosho Local Government Area.

Kayode Sutton, the spokesperson for the state’s Ministry of Education, noted that earlier intervention could have occurred if the ministry had been informed about the alleged misconduct sooner.

The alarming allegations gained attention in the news on November 18.

Subsequently, the teacher was taken into custody by local law enforcement for the alleged incident involving the young student.

Reports indicate that the teacher lured the boy to a secluded spot under the pretense of taking him to a spelling bee and art competition, promising potential prizes and travel opportunities. Once there, he is accused of further threatening the child to remain silent about the incident.

In response to the situation, Sutton confirmed that the relevant authorities have been alerted and will commence a thorough investigation.

A woman, claiming to be the school’s owner yet wishing to remain anonymous, confirmed that the suspect was apprehended by police and subsequently dismissed following the school’s awareness of the allegations.
