Legal Clarification on Drug Possession Arrests

Stan Alieke, the attorney representing Nigerian artist Speed Darlington, has recently shared an important legal statement.

He asserted that the Nigerian Police lack the authority to arrest, detain, or prosecute individuals found with Indian hemp or other illicit substances.

In a social media update, Alieke emphasized that such powers are exclusively held by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
