Former Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has shared that his ex-teammate Neymar did not heed his suggestion to move to the Premier League rather than join Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar made his debut for PSG in 2017 in a record-breaking transfer worth €222 million, a milestone that still stands today.

Last summer, Neymar departed PSG and signed with Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

During their time at Barcelona, Neymar, Suarez, and Lionel Messi formed a formidable attacking unit known as MSN, posing a significant challenge for defenses in Spain and beyond.

This trio played together for three seasons (2014-15 to 2016-17), achieving a remarkable continental treble in their first year together.

They added six more trophies, including a La Liga title, over the next two years before Neymar’s transfer to PSG.

Suarez expressed his surprise regarding Neymar’s decision to leave, stating in an interview with Placar TV (via Sportbible), “We told him, ‘Ney, if you want to achieve everything stay with us at Barcelona.’ We even suggested he should consider going to Manchester City in England.”

He added, “I truly believe if Neymar had stayed at Barcelona, he would have won the Ballon d’Or.”

During his injury-riddled six seasons at PSG, Neymar managed to score 118 goals and provide 77 assists in 173 matches across all competitions.
