Halima Hassan, the mother of the late BBNaija contestant Rico Swavey, has opened up about the heartache following his untimely death.
His passing in a car accident in 2022 significantly affected her mental health and brought immense sadness.
During a chat with Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that losing Rico was especially challenging since he was her second son to die.
She articulated her wish for him to return, even if it was in a comatose state.
To handle her grief, Halima keeps her son’s memory alive by displaying his photographs around the house and regularly speaks to them, sharing her daily thoughts and plans with him before stepping out.
“It was really tough for me; I felt lost. I just wanted him to be back, no matter the state he was in.”
“After he passed, I told him I would help fulfill the music he left behind, ensuring his efforts wouldn’t be in vain.”
“Rico’s pictures are everywhere in my home. Every day, I smile at them and say, ‘Rico, it’s another day for me, I’m going out.’ I talk to him about my plans and make my morning prayers, asking for strength to carry on,” she shared.
