The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has addressed a viral video which purportedly shows officers collecting fuel from an overturned tanker.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, clarified that the individuals seen in the footage are not NPF personnel but rather uniformed staff from a nearby Francophone nation, who wear similar camouflage uniforms.
Additionally, it was noted that the individuals spoke French, which further indicates that they are not part of Nigeria’s police force.
ACP Adejobi condemned the dissemination of unverified videos aimed at damaging the police’s reputation, stating, “Such actions demean our integrity and have detrimental effects on the country and its citizens.”
He reaffirmed the NPF’s dedication to maintaining discipline, professionalism, and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians, emphasizing that any actions that harm the police’s image will not be accepted.
Furthermore, the NPF encouraged the public to verify information before sharing to help combat misinformation and foster national harmony.
Watch the Video Below;
These policemen are engaged in extremely risky siphoning of fuel from an overturned fuel tanker due to the Failure To Thrive (FTT) crisis!!
You can imagine what they do with less risky (illegal) operations.
Let’s all say: Enough is Enough!
