Police Forces Nab 128 Suspected Criminals Nationwide
The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended 128 individuals suspected of criminal activities and seized a variety of dangerous weapons during recent operations across the country.
On Tuesday, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Muyiwa Adejobi announced that these actions are part of the strategy directed by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, aimed at enhancing security as the festive season approaches.
ACP Adejobi mentioned, “As we near the festive period, the Nigeria Police Force remains alert and proactive, increasing efforts to ensure public safety through intensified operations which have led to numerous arrests and recoveries.”
In a significant operation on December 14, 2024, police in Lagos State targeted criminal hideouts in the Isolo area, resulting in the arrest of 43 suspects. Authorities recovered substantial quantities of cannabis, daggers, swords, and other potentially dangerous items.
On the following day, December 15, 2024, police in Isheri Osun arrested Charles Orji, who was caught attempting to steal a Toyota Hilux. Upon investigation, officers found seven different keys for Toyota vehicles in his possession, indicating potential involvement in a larger theft ring.
The police continue to monitor activities in states such as Kaduna, Zamfara, Taraba, Edo, Delta, Benue, and Niger, implementing strategic security measures to protect communities. This nationwide effort ensures the safety of lives and properties.
“As we move closer to the height of the festivities, the Nigeria Police Force is committed to preventing crime and ensuring the safety of all citizens,” stated Adejobi. He encouraged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior, underscoring the Force’s dedication to maintaining a secure environment during the holiday season.
