Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, announced the groundbreaking achievement of Kelechi Ndukwe.

Kelechi Ndukwe, a Nigerian, has reached a significant milestone by being promoted to Captain from Commander in the US Navy.

US Army Officer Victor Agunbiade took to X to celebrate Ndukwe’s promotion.

“Introducing the newest US Navy Captain Kelechi Ndukwe, the first Nigerian to take command of a US Navy War Ship! Congratulations on your well-deserved promotion, Captain!” he proclaimed.



“During the promotion ceremony of US Navy Captain Kelechi Ndukwe – a true trailblazer!”

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, also shared the news on x.com, extending her congratulations to Ndukwe.

Dabiri praised Kingsley, stating, “Heartfelt congratulations to Navy Captain Kelechi R Ndukwe on his advancement to the rank of Navy Captain from Commander in the US NAVY.”
