This Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel from Abuja to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, which will address pressing issues in the Middle East.
This information was shared on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
The Summit is scheduled to begin on November 11, 2024.
It is organized upon the invitation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following a similar event held in the same city last year.
At the summit, President Tinubu is anticipated to discuss the Israel-Palestinian conflict, underscoring Nigeria’s firm stance on the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful settlement.
The statement further noted: “Nigeria will promote renewed initiatives to reinstate the two-state solution as a means to achieve enduring peace in the region.
“Significant officials joining the President include Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.
“After the summit’s conclusion, President Tinubu will make his way back to Abuja.”
