Nigerian students are urging President Bola Tinubu to fulfill his commitment to provide buses for them.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has voiced their concern over the delay in delivering on this promise.

In a statement, the Zonal Coordinators of NANS emphasized the impact of this delay on students’ daily lives and academic success.

The promise to provide buses was initially announced in July 2023 as a measure to alleviate the financial strain on students and their families, especially with rising fuel prices.

Despite the clear vision of the President to support students through this initiative, the actual provision of buses has not materialized, leaving students to face ongoing transportation challenges.

NANS insists that a government’s credibility is tied to its ability to fulfill promises made to its citizens.

They call on President Tinubu to take immediate action and ensure that the promised buses are provided without further delay.

Additionally, NANS urges the President to monitor federal universities to prevent unjustifiable fee hikes that could further burden students.

It is emphasized that the welfare and academic success of Nigerian students must be a top priority for the government.
