The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi has implored Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke to rescind his executive order suspending the appointment of three prominent traditional rulers in the state.
At the conclusion of the Iwo Traditional Council meeting, a communique was issued by Oluwo to commend the Governor for his numerous accomplishments in his first 100 days in office, while also urging him to revoke his executive order against the monarchs.
According to Channels TV, “We, the members of Iwo Traditional Council under our leader, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, are commending Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for the various facilities and projects inaugurated to mark his 100-day in office. We have noticed his government’s leadership in the building of roads, the provision of portable water, rural electrification, the launch of a medical outreach programme in Iwo, the allocation of millions of naira to small enterprises, and the settlement of wage arrears. He is a gift from God to the decent citizens of Osun State. We fervently hope for a fruitful term in office.
Therefore, we implore Governor Adeleke to rescind his decree regarding some monarchs in Osun State. The edict essentially hinders the monarchical government of the affected cities. We request that Governor Adeleke revoke the decree in order to honor the Iwo Traditional Council and restore the entire royal regalia. Channels TV report.
The affected monarchs are not pleased. Even when they are compensated, kings still struggle to make ends meet. We don’t want our traditional leaders to be forced to purchase or sell land. It’s wise to have a contingency plan in place in case something goes wrong.
