Clarification from Pastor Bolaji Idowu
Pastor Bolaji Idowu, who leads Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has recently spoken out about rumors of his arrest by the Nigerian Police.
These rumors stemmed from allegations suggesting his connection to real estate fraud and money laundering complaints.
In a video he shared with his congregation on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Pastor Idowu explained that he had been invited by the authorities to provide assistance in the ongoing investigation and had not been arrested.
The investigation pertains to a member of his church who has been accused of financial misconduct, though Pastor Idowu chose not to disclose any names.
He expressed his appreciation to his supporters for their continuous faith in him during this challenging time, noting that the investigation remains active.
Pastor Idowu committed to fully cooperating with the police while also maintaining the privacy of those involved.
He declared, “This is from me to you: I was invited and not arrested.
“I was brought in by the police to assist with a case related to a church member facing difficulties.
“I wish to share more, but the case is still open, and there is a person at stake. They have families who depend on them. If names were disclosed prematurely, it could harm someone’s life.
“I will allow the police to proceed with their work while I step back from the matter.
“Thank you for your trust and backing, even when details were unclear.”
“I was INVITED, I was NOT arrested by the police to help in an investigation about a church member that got into some trouble.”
