Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra Announce Divorce After Three Decades
Pep Guardiola, renowned manager of Manchester City, and his spouse, Cristina Serra, have separated after 30 years of marriage.
A report from SPORT indicated that their divorce is proceeding in a “cordial, stable, and friendly” manner.
It seems that the couple grew apart during the last five years while Guardiola managed teams in different countries.
The pair initially met in 1994 and tied the knot in 2014 in the vicinity of Barcelona.
They share three children: Maria, aged 24, Marius, aged 22, and Valentina, who is 17.
Currently, Cristina is residing in Barcelona with their youngest daughter, Valentina, while Guardiola remains in Manchester.
Serra, a journalist hailing from Brazil, was seen with Guardiola on various occasions last year.
The mutual decision to divorce reportedly took place in December, with only close friends and family being informed initially.
They have instructed those close to them to keep details of the divorce private.
In 2019, Cristina transitioned to work for her family’s fashion brand, Serra Claret, after relocating from Manchester.
In November, Guardiola signed a new two-year contract with Manchester City, extending his tenure until 2027, despite earlier assumptions he might leave after his last contract.
