The governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has established a committee to oversee the distribution of 20 trucks laden with bags of rice donated by the Federal Government.

During a meeting with a group of youths from the state in Jos on August 16, the governor disclosed this development.

Mutfwang clarified that the 20 trucks are loaded with 25kg bags of rice, debunking claims that they are 50kg bags as rumored in some quarters.

He added that the committee is composed of representatives from all 17 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.

”The committee comprises all LGA chairmen, Commissioners from each LGA, representatives from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI).

”Additionally, the committee includes principals of all boarding schools in each LGA, youth, and women leaders,” he stated.

Mutfwang noted that the delivery of 20 trucks full of rice bags falls short of the required amount.

He pledged that the state government would secure more trucks to ensure the assistance reaches all vulnerable individuals across the state.
