Changes in Police Requirements for Journalists at Protests

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ben Igweh, has instructed journalists reporting on the current nationwide protest against hunger to wear their respective media organization’s jackets and carry valid identification with them.

In a statement on Sunday, the police command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, made this directive public.

A day after reports emerged that police and State Security Service (SSS) personnel fired at journalists covering the protest at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, this directive was issued.
