Rescue Operation in Abuja Building Collapse

Authorities from the FCT Police Command carried out a successful rescue operation saving three individuals trapped under the debris of a collapsed building at Unity House, Area 11 by Nkwere Street on Monday night, July 1.

Upon receiving a distress call, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, swiftly led multiple patrol teams to the scene as the first responders to secure the area for potential rescue operations. According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, “Three victims were successfully evacuated from the collapsed building and rushed to the hospital for medical care.”

Adeh also mentioned that the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria and FCT Development Control have been informed about the incident, and their personnel have taken control of the area to effectively manage the situation.
