FCT Police Rescues Two Abducted Victims In Bwari Reunites Them

The FCT Police prevented an abduction in Guto village, Bwari Area Council, and successfully rescued two kidnapped individuals.

The victims, Marta Ojadi, 15, and Evelyn Chinaza, 12, were rescued by a joint effort involving the anti-kidnapping unit of the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and local hunters.

In a statement, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the safe rescue of the victims who have been reunited with their families.

“In response to the sudden attack by unknown gunmen in Guto village, Bwari, earlier today, June 30, 2024, at about 01:30 p.m., where two female victims, Mart Ojadi, 15 years old, and Evelyn Chinaza, 12 years old, were kidnapped and forcefully taken to an unknown location, the operatives of the FCT police command from the anti-kidnapping unit swiftly mobilised to the scene.

The police, alongside DSS hunters, engaged in a successful operation at Gauraka Forest, Niger State, bordering FCT, resulting in the rescue of the victims without harm despite an intense gun battle with the kidnappers.

Adeh highlighted the successful reunion of the victims with their families and reiterated the commitment of the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, to ensuring peace and security in the capital. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through police emergency hotlines.
