Catholic Priest Abducted In Zamfara Regains Freedom (via Primetweets)
Following his abduction two weeks ago, Reverend Father Mikah Suleiman, the Catholic Priest in Zamfara State, has been released and is currently being supported and cared for according to a statement by the Director of Communications Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Pascal Salifu.




 

Reverend Father Mikah Suleiman, the parish priest of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Damba, Gusau, Zamfara State, was kidnapped by bandits at 3 am. The Zamfara State Police Command spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the abduction.

The incident was not immediately reported to the police, but a tactical squad was deployed to rescue the priest. Pascal Salifu’s statement expressed gratitude for his safe release and requested continued prayers for his recovery.

The statement from the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto read, “We are pleased to share that Fr Mikah Suleiman, who was abducted on 22/06/2024, has been safely released.

“We thank God for His protection and everyone who supported us during this challenging time. Our appreciation extends to the authorities and all involved in securing Fr Mikah’s release. He is currently receiving care and support.

“Please keep him in your prayers as he embarks on his recovery journey.”
