Criticizing Fair-weather Fans
Ric Hassani, a well-known Nigerian singer and songwriter, has recently expressed his disdain for fans who threaten to stop supporting their favorite celebrities.
He highlighted that public figures endure significant hardships to achieve their status and are largely indifferent to fans who might unfollow them or withdraw their admiration.
In a post on X, he remarked: “Someone casually waking up in Ijebu Ode and saying ‘you’ve lost my respect’ just doesn’t get it.
“Do you have any idea what these artists have gone through to be where they are?
“If you’ve lost a fan, so what? Just sit down—you’re not that important.”
