Security Agents Attacked Unprovoked, Calls for Protest End

There Were Unprovoked Attacks On Security Agents The Protest Should (via Primetweets)

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, revealed that security agents came under unprovoked attacks during the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest. He mentioned that some police officers were injured by individuals pretending to be protesters, and certain police stations across the country were set on fire by violent individuals.

Egbetokun described the events in major cities as more of “mass uprising and looting” rather than peaceful protests. He noted the absence of protest leaders to guide the demonstrations despite earlier warnings from the police, allowing miscreants to hijack the protests.

“Police stations have been destroyed, and there were attempts to seize government buildings,” he stated. In various locations like FCT, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe, security personnel were subjected to unprovoked attacks resulting in one policeman being killed and several others sustaining severe injuries.

“Given the current circumstances, the Nigeria Police Force has placed all units on red alert. Our officers are fully prepared to swiftly and decisively restore public safety and order,” the IGP emphasized.
