Ireti Kingibe, the senator for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), staged a walkout during a Senate session on Thursday.
She aimed to present a motion regarding the demolition of Paul OSA Ogbeboh Estate in Abuja, but Senate President Akpabio refused to allow her to proceed.
Akpabio stated that her motion was not on the day’s agenda and that they were in the midst of discussing the scheduled matters, which made it impossible to backtrack without violating Senate rules.
Despite her insistence that it was a pressing national issue, Kingibe could not sway the Senate President’s decision.
This led to her leaving the chamber in protest.
