Three South African Farmers Face Court for Alleged Murders

In South Africa, three individuals have been brought before the court regarding the suspected murders of two women, Locadia Ndlovu and Maria Makgatho, whose remains were reportedly fed to pigs on a farm.

The accused are Zachariah Johannes Olivier, 60, who owns the farm, his 19-year-old supervisor Adrian Rudolph de Wet, and 45-year-old worker William Musora. They are charged with two counts of premeditated murder, an attempt to murder, and possessing an unlicensed firearm.

Musora, a national from Zimbabwe, also faces charges for staying in South Africa illegally.

It is claimed that the victims were trespassing on Olivier’s property in Limpopo when they were shot in August.

Mabutho Ndlovu, Ms. Ndlovu’s husband, was present during the event and stated that he himself was shot but managed to crawl to a road to get assistance, ultimately leading police to the scene.

Although police initially found no trace of the women after Mr. Ndlovu reported the incident, their bodies were discovered days later in a pig pen.

Investigations revealed that both victims, aged 47 and 34, were severely injured from pig attacks and had multiple bullet wounds.

Reports suggest that the three individuals shot the women as they sought to collect outdated dairy products that had been discarded on the farm.

The trio appeared in court at Mankweng Magistrates’ Court in Polokwane, where the prosecution requested that they remain detained until the trial concludes.

The incident has sparked significant public outrage, with protests erupting outside the courthouse demanding the denial of bail and severe penalties for the accused.

The South African Human Rights Commission urged the public to refrain from taking vigilante actions in response to the crimes.

The hearings for this case will resume next month.
