Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has refuted allegations suggesting he sought the guidance of a native doctor for his reelection chances.
In a statement released on Wednesday by Christian Aburime, his Press Secretary, the administration labelled these claims as “completely untrue” and “maliciously concocted.”
The government asserted that a video circulating on the internet, which allegedly depicts the Governor consulting a native doctor, was actually recorded during a gathering with content creators from Anambra.
Aburime stated: “At that event, one of the content creators performed a skit, a popular comedic format in Nigerian entertainment, to demonstrate their talent.”
“The administration expresses its dismay that adversaries would intentionally distort the video to disseminate false information.
“Governor Soludo’s dedication to advancing Anambra’s creative economy is showcased through initiatives such as the recently opened Solution Fun City. We encourage the public to dismiss the misinformation and verify facts before spreading or amplifying unverified content.
“The top priority for Governor Soludo remains the progress of Anambra State and the implementation of the Solution Agenda,” the press release concluded.
