Omoyele Sowore, a prominent activist and political figure in Nigeria, contends that the decisions regarding the 2027 presidential electoral process have already been finalized by those in power.
During his interview with Vanguard, Sowore emphatically stated that the “2027 election results are predetermined”.
Nonetheless, he affirmed his commitment to participate in the presidential race, asserting that he has “never ceased running”.
Sowore explained, “whether it’s campaigning, protesting, or engaging in legal battles—I am always in pursuit of something.
“Regarding elections, I have little faith in the present voting framework. The 2027 outcomes are predetermined.”
He emphasized that genuine change will only come through defiance against the existing system, rather than through the polls.
Commenting on Nigeria’s current situation, Sowore expressed that “Nigerians have made a serious error by electing Bola Tinubu to lead”.
“I have stated this before and will reiterate: once Tinubu finishes with this nation, many Nigerians will wish for the return of Buhari’s administration.
“He is inflicting irreparable harm—economically, socially, and politically. Institutions, education, and democracy have all been significantly weakened. Buhari severely impacted Nigeria over eight years; now, in just two years, Tinubu is dismantling it,” he further explained.
