Auxiliary Nurse Caught Stealing in Ondo
Jimoh Akeem, a 25-year-old auxiliary nurse, was apprehended by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, commonly known as the Amotekun Corps, for suspected theft in Ondo town.
During his interrogation at the agency’s headquarters in Akure, Akeem admitted to focusing his criminal activities on stealing motorcycles, clothing, and generators.
“My first theft was a motorcycle I took from Ajagbale Quarters, and I have stolen three motorcycles since I started this year,” he confessed.
“My accomplice and I sneak into the owner’s yard at night to take the motorcycles. We don’t confront anyone; we usually scout for bikes at night,” he explained.
“Once I steal a motorcycle, I have a buyer in Abeokuta who pays me N450,000 for each one,” Akeem divulged. “I’ve also engaged in stealing clothes, which I sell to female buyers. For the aso-oke, I make about N300,000 per transaction.”
“I often work alone but sometimes have help, especially when a motorcycle was seized from me,” he noted.
“I work as an auxiliary nurse at Ogunye Hospital without a clear reason for my actions,” he admitted, identifying a buyer named Goma from Ijebu Ode through a friend.
“This arrest marks my second time being caught for theft,” he concluded.
