Martins Vincent Otse, known as Very Dark Man, an activist, claims that there is no missing money from his NGO.
He posted a video on social media today where he explained that he staged the missing N180 million incident to highlight, in his view, the gullibility of social media users, saying that “80% of them are foolish.”
VDM reassured followers that the funds donated to his organization remain untouched, explaining that he instructed the shutdown of the website himself.
He expressed frustration at how quickly people accepted the story without verifying the facts, shifting blame and insults toward him and his family.
On Friday, Very Dark Man claimed on Instagram that his organization’s account had been hacked and that N180 million was missing.
“80% of people on social media are foolish, and the recent N180 million incident is a perfect example. I did this intentionally to demonstrate your naïveté. There’s no missing money; my funds are safe. It’s concerning how eager people are to jump on negativity. I told my website administrator to take it down so we could see how people would react. No one asked for proof; they just ran with the story. I’m pleased to have done this,” he stated.
