Three Dead, Two Injured in Ogun After Cement-Laden Truck Rams Into Shop

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, a tragic accident occurred in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. A truck carrying bags of cement, marked RAN788AX, lost control and crashed into a shop. Six people were involved in the crash, two male adults and four female adults. Sadly, one male adult and two female adults were killed, while the other two female adults sustained injuries. The injured victims were taken to the General Hospital in Ota, and the corpses were deposited in the hospital’s morgue. It is believed that the cause of the crash was excessive speed, brake failure, and loss of control. The dead victims were either traders or passengers waiting for a vehicle at the bus stop. The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, expressed his sympathies to the families of the victims and reminded motorists to always carry out vehicle maintenance regularly.
