Tragic Passing of Taraba Governor’s Sibling Following Armed Robbery Incident

Atsi Kefas, the sibling of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has sadly passed away after suffering injuries from an armed robbery.

The 44-year-old died on Monday night in a private hospital in Abuja, where she was being treated following the attack.

On Thursday, armed individuals targeted a vehicle carrying the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas, along Kente Road in the Wukari Local Government Area, resulting in Atsi being shot.

She received immediate care at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being transferred to Abuja for advanced treatment.

Dauda Samaila Agbu, the chairman of the Wukari council, confirmed the unfortunate incident to reporters, expressing deep sadness over the event, emphasizing Atsi’s gunshot wound and her subsequent medical transfer.

While the state government and the Kefas family have yet to issue an official statement regarding her death, a trusted family source informed Premium Times that she passed away on Monday night.

The news of Atsi’s death has led to a significant outpouring of condolences on social media, with many expressing their sympathies online.
