Well-known Nigerian activist, Comrade Israel Joe, has shared his thoughts on a situation involving a man who accused his wife of marrying another individual while still being legally tied to him.
Reports indicate that Anthony Echebiri alleged that his wife not only wed a new partner but also became pregnant by him after severing ties with their daughters.
In his Facebook message, Comrade Joe expressed empathy towards Mr. Echebiri but reminded him that a fundamental aspect of natural justice is to allow the other party to present their perspective.
“I truly sympathize with you, my brother, it’s heartbreaking that your wife has moved on to another man while you are still married,” he stated.
“Nonetheless, it’s crucial to hear her side of the story as part of the principles of fairness. Although her actions may seem extreme, we should remember she is not beyond reason.
“Let us wait for her response to the allegations, and if she chooses to remain silent, that silence might be interpreted as agreement with the claims.”
